Where Chefs Eat by Phaidon
This is pretty much Yelp.com but filled with people who have extraordinary culinary tastes and skills instead of people who have time to write 1,000 word essays about their last Olive Garden experience. The book contains over 2,300 recommendations and has this very cool, vintage-y design theme throughout it. Get it here.

Hawkeye by Matt Fraction
This is a great comic book that is well written, funny and downright enjoyable. It focuses more on the man than the superhero and is filled with street-level grit and excitement that is missing in many books featuring capes and cowls. If you’re a comic fan, this is a can’t miss. If you’re not, this is something that might change your perspective on what they are as storytelling mediums.

Marilyn Monroe, NYC Book
In 1955, a 14 year old boy won the opportunity to spend the day with Ms. Marilyn in New York City. He made a five minute film with a borrowed camera documenting their time together, but the footage was lost up until 2002. This coffee table book consists of screen grabs from the found footage.

The Official CIA Manual of Trickery and Deception
The manuals reprinted in this book represent the only known complete copy of instructions for CIA officers on the magician’s art of deception and secret communications. As 98% of readers are already men of espionage and danger - we’re probably preaching to the choir. But for the other 2%? This could save their lives.

Thief of Thieves
Like the television show The Walking Dead? It was originally a comic book created by the incredibly talented writer Robert Kirkman. His latest venture into that world is Thief of Thieves, a book that centers around Conrad Paulson (a very George Clooney/Danny Ocean-esque protagonist), a highly-successful thief who quits the business and begins a new life stealing from other thieves. For fans of gripping storytelling and incredible art (some of which is very Saul Bass influenced) check out this book. We recommend the iPad app Comixology for optimal viewing and easy access.  Oh yeah, and it’s being developed into an AMC television series for 2013. That’s the same network who brought you shows like Breaking Bad and Mad Men, so you know it will be some of the best stuff the small screen has to offer.

Le Corbusier - The Art of Architecture Book
Le Corbusier was a designer, “urbanist” and writer and is widely acclaimed as one of the most influential architect of the 20th century. Keep this on your coffee table and look like the kinda man who could possibly moonlight as an art thief. You might learn a few things if you decide to read it, too.
